Good Turn Out for the Neighbourhood Plan Drop-In

Access the Plan and on-line comments form here: https://www.greatwaldingfield.uk/draft-np/

A big thank you to all of you who attended the village meeting on Saturday 11 June. As well as the sun, many residents came out to look at the draft Neighbourhood Plan -indeed we had over a hundred visitors throughout the day.

Many people commented on the clear presentation and felt the plan was comprehensive and well-researched.

If you were unable to attend on the day, it is not too late! The village meeting was just the start of the 6-week consultation process. The draft plan and comments form can all be seen online.  Visit the draft Neighbourhood Plan page on this website (see the above link) to find a copy of the draft plan and an on-line comments form.

The comments form takes you through each of the policies and asks you to say if you agree with them or not. In order to help with this,  we have put in the principal reasons for each policy as well as the survey results connected to them.

If you prefer reading from a hard copy,  you can borrow one of these from Rectory Manor Hotel on Rectory Road (Mondays-Saturdays between 11-3) together with a Comments Form. The hard copy will need to be returned to Rectory Manor once you have read it and the Comments Form may be left there or at the village shop, the Primary School or the White Horse pub. We are grateful to all of these for their support.

We would prefer you to make your comments using the online form. If you use the hard copy, we have to transfer it onto an online form which is a long process. Your help in this would be appreciated! And remember : the consultation period ends on 1 August so any comments received after this time will not be included. One other thing regarding comments : positive remarks are also very acceptable.

We would like to say a big thank you also to our 20 “Street Champions” for going all around Great Waldingfield delivering leaflets to every house in the week before the meeting (we hope you all received one!), to Bernard Rushton and Chris Francis for car-park duty on the day, to the Steering Group members who set up the event and were present on the day and to our consultant, Ian Poole, for preparing and delivering our presentation boards.

What happens next? Once the comments have been completed and any changes made to the draft plan, it will be presented to Babergh for review where further amendments may be made. Finally it will come back to the village where you will vote in a referendum on the plan but that is some time away.

Thank you again for all your support with this important plan for our village.
