Meetings with Babergh District Council
On the 3rd May 2018 the Parish Council and resident member of the Steering Group, met with Babergh District Council to review the progress of the Great Waldingfield Neighbourhood Plan as well as the status of the emerging Joint Local Plan that Babergh and Mid Suffolk are currently developing. It was also an opportunity for Babergh to explain the Memo of Understanding between GWPC and Babergh, which was exchanged before any resident members of the Steering Group were appointed.
It is planned for both sides to meet again before the second round of consultation takes place on the Joint Local Plan, where it is hoped that Babergh will know the precise number of dwellings it needs to produce in the District by 2036 as well as the spatial distribution criteria to be achieved.
On the 12th Octber 2017 representatives from the Parish Council met with Babergh District Council (BDC) in order to review:
- the emerging Local Plan
- the relationship of the Local Plan with the emerging Great Waldingfield Neighbourhood Plan
- the support offered by BDC to GWPC in the development of the Great Waldingfield Neighbourhood Plan
- the agreements that need to be agreed by both parties.
Here are the notes of the meeting.
