Also on Saturday – an Open Day at the Pavilion – 10 – 4.
Fifty years ago a local farmer gifted a plot of land to Suffolk County Council (then West Suffolk County Council) to be maintained as a playing field for the villagers.
Around the same time a group of villagers got together and raised money to build a Pavilion to go with the new sports field. This was used throughout many years for football and cricket matches as well as Village Fetes, Carnivals and School Sports Days.
In 2018, Suffolk County Council decided to put up a fence due to health and safety risks for the school children playing on the field where dogs were being walked. Unfortunately nobody really thought about the consequences for the Pavilion.
After a number of long running discussions over its future, the current Parish Council has decided to refurbish it and make it available for village use once more – either alongside the field during certain school holidays or on its own.
The Pavilion Working Group now wants your ideas for the future use of the Pavilion.
Please come along between 10 and 4 on Saturday (30th August), look inside and see what you think!
Many thanks
