Branchlines December Updates

ST. LAWRENCE CHURCHYARD

Working Party. Saturday 7th December. Meet 9.30am at the churchyard for a final tidy up before Christmas.

Good session last month with a cheerful bonfire and hedge trimming. We still have the front hedge to trim and we may have to lay down wood chippings on the path again if it gets muddy.
I am currently not planning a January working party.

New Year. We look forward to the snowdrop display which will peak in late January/early February. More information for visitors will be on display for interest and guidance.

BRANCHLINES AND OLD SCHOOL WOOD

Working Party. Saturday January 25th. Meet 9.30am by the benches along the main track.
Exercise, fresh air, a good cause – maybe your new year’s resolutions fulfilled.
Bring a hot drink for 11am break.
(NO Working Party in December)

December to March is time for winter tree and hedge work. This will involve coppicing, hedging, perhaps planting, willow weaving.
We have tools to lend for the morning and can give basic training on site. I am hoping to arrange another professional hedge laying course, probably in February.
Thank you to all our brilliant volunteers for their work in 2024.

BRANCHLINES AGM. Friday 24th January. 7pm in the Village Hall.

We start the meeting with a guest speaker, then break for refreshments, then move on to the AGM business.
Open to all to attend, but only members may vote at the AGM.
Speaker to be confirmed but may be from the environment agency or a local expert on mini-beasts.
