Coronation Tree Planting – Weds. 8th March

Dr. David Taylor has organized the planting of a tree to commemorate the forthcoming Coronation of His Majesty King Charles 3rd.

Tina Hosford, Head Teacher of the Village School, is to retire this Summer. Rev. Faith Marsden and David Taylor thought it would be a lovely tribute and a memory for the children of the school and the village if she plants the Coronation Tree.

The tree is a Rowan (Sorbus Aucuparia) this species has white flowers in the Spring followed by red berries in the Autumn which are a favourite for feeding birds. The tree is bare rooted hence the planting of it now before the Coronation in May. The tree is to be planted in the Meadow near to the new pond and the W.I. Benches.
