Neighbourhood Plan

Third time lucky for our village drop-in?

On Saturday 26th June we are holding a village drop-in at the Village Hall between 12.15 and 4 pm.

On display will be all the results of the village survey together with the additional comments that were made. – these made very interesting reading.  This is also the chance to show you the Landscape Appraisal that has been completed which details our 6 landscape areas and shows what can be done to protect these for the future.

In the Neighbourhood Plan we can map all our open green spaces and ensure that these will stay for village use and cannot be built on. These will all be displayed so that you can make sure we haven’t missed anything.

We have many listed buildings in the village, but there are also those that are unlisted which contribute to our local character and there will be a display of these too.

There have been many negative comments about the design of the new development at the end of Bantocks Road and it is important that any future developments are not based on this same design. The Neighbourhood Plan will contain Design Codes to ensure this will not happen – we need your comments on the codes that have been produced by AECOM, a professional design team, to make sure that you agree.

During the Focus Groups a number of areas of concern around parking and speeding were mentioned that we then put into the Survey. We are looking for suggestions of ways to combat these – parking around the school and the shop, speeding along the Main Road and Bantocks Road and the danger of the junction near the shop.  Please come and give us your ideas.

We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday 26th June.
